(Español) Piden uso de combustible alternativo en el Chaco The “Casa Alemana,” icon of energy innovation, arrives in Latin America

Buenos Aires, March 2010. The Federal Ministry of the Economics and Technology, together with the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development of Germany and the Argentine-German Chamber announce the arrival in Latin America of the exhibition “Casa Alemana – La Innovación Energética” in the month of April.

The “Casa Alemana” is an energy-efficient home prototype that will visit 13 Latin American cities, demonstrating new and innovative German technologies for home construction and solar energy use, creating more comfortable living spaces while achieving critical energy savings.

The “German House” shows that beauty and comfort can work together with energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy. Uniting architectural sophistication and innovative technology, it makes clear that sustainability and design quality are viable concepts with major potential in Latin American markets.

This exhibition is based on the model of a sustainable home created by the Technical University of Darmstadt, winners in 2007 and 2009 of the “Solar Decathlon,” an international architecture and engineering contest sponsored by the United States Department of Energy.

The home will be open to the public and will offer events for professionals interested in the application of technologies for home energy efficiency and renewable energy use, particularly microgeneration.

The “Casa Alemana” will be displayed in Sao Paulo (Brasil), Montevideo (Uruguay), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Asunción (Paraguay), Santiago de Chile (Chile), Santa Cruz (Bolivia), Lima (Perú), Quito (Ecuador), Bogotá (Colombia), Caracas (Venezuela), San José (Costa Rica), Guatemala City (Guatemala) and México City (México).

Dates will be available on the project’s web page, at lacasaalemana.com and through communication campaigns in each country.
